Frequently Asked Questions

How long is delivery of DEMS? And when does training happen?

The delivery time of DEMS depends on a variety of factors, including additional add-on requests, customer location, and quality assurance testing time of the device. However, we will always provide an approximate shipment date, normally around 6-12 weeks from order.

For specific DEMS packages, training on DEMS as well as installation is included. This will be provided after DEMS delivery, as mutually agreed.

What are the dimensions of DEMS? How would it look in my lab?

The completed DEMS system is compact and modular, allowing for easy installation anywhere in your laboratory or on your bench.

See here for our installation guide. Please note that this is just for initial reference. Double check the installation requirements for your device during consultation.

The mass spectrometer is positioned above the PoGASi, as shown in the diagram. There are 3 pumps in total, 2 Membrane pumps and 1 Scroll pump. The pumps can be placed under the bench connected by a pipe tube (up to 2m long).

What existing software do I need? How is the IT setup?

LIQUIDLOOP’s software is run using LabView. We provide the PC hardware itself, but to run the software, we require you to install Windows (with your institutes admin rights) and the LabView licence.

Software to install:
> Windows 10 or 11 (English version)
> Specified drivers
> LabVIEW 2020 Full edition

In case we need to have remote access to the PC for updates or troubleshooting, we use Anydesk. This is only for technical support or any other training necessary after our in-person training.

I have my own cell set up. I am curious to know how to use my setup with DEMS. Can I still use FlowSys to get stable baseline?

Our DEMS is designed to be integrated with your cell setup. By discussing your set up with us in a consultation, we can fit our system to your needs and experimental design.

Requirements for the integration of your own cell with DEMS in order to get a constant MS baseline, is that the capillary is within reach of your catalyst to efficiently collect reaction products, and that the electrolyte flow is constant, without bubble formation and with homogeneous saturation. To achieve this, we recommend the use of FlowSys. Its function is to allow control of the liquid flow, saturation and pressure of the reservoirs.
